Children are naturally curious about the world around them. And they ask a million questions a day.

Some will make you uncomfortable. That's normal. They make us uncomfortable too.

But here's the truth. Children ask these questions - whether we address them or not.

And when we avoid them, we teach them something: that some questions are too dangerous to explore. That disagreement should be avoided. That complexity should be feared.

Because avoiding complexity doesn't create peace - it creates ignorance, which doesn’t prepare children for a pluralistic world. 🌍

Because they are already living among people different from them. Their friend’s family might practice a different religion (or none at all). Their neighbour might have two dads. Their classmate might have had to flee from a war.

We can protect them from confronting the reality of these differences now. Or we can prepare them to navigate them with wisdom. We choose preparation. 🌱
