Yesterday, we welcomed families to our *Math Meets Mystery* workshop, a lively, hands-on exploration of math, science, patterns, and forensics. From patterns in nature to solving a mystery with magnifying glasses, children explored math, logic, and forensics through interactive games that sharpened their observation skills and sparked plenty of smiles.

It was more than just a fun afternoon. It was a chance to preview the type of interactive, curiosity-driven learning that defines our upcoming August camp and afterschool program. Through puzzles, problem-solving, and playful experiments, parents and children connected, learned, and laughed together. We're proud to share our approach with the community, and this is just the beginning.

Led by Alexis Poindron, PhD in applied mathematics, and Nour Alkhawand, Master’s of Forensic Medicine, the children learned about what patterns are and their occurrence in nature, and solved a special mystery using forensic science methodologies.

The children enjoyed investigating the mystery of a stolen trophy by closely examining clues left at the crime scene. They investigated fingerprints, footprints, and even hair from the suspects. They also had the chance to participate in a science experiment to see which candy wrapper had residue in it. Using their magnifying glasses, their sterile gloves and, most importantly, their logic skills, the children arrived at a conclusion swiftly and accurately.

After learning about patterns and forensic science, the children had an interlude by playing the Freeze Game and Musical Chairs, which was a perfect opportunity for them to run around and to use up their energy!

💫Thank you to everyone who came to participate in our event, and thank you to Alexis and Nour for leading the way with enthusiasm and insight!

If you were unable to join, fear not: next week, on July 29th, we are hosting another event. This time, the children will learn the basics programming and learn how to explain to a robot how to identify human emotions! Dive deep into the fascinating world of AI and keep learning!🤖
